NB Liquor is aiming to have home delivery and in-store pick up for its products ordered online within the next two years.
The company is now working on an online order system for its website and the pick-up at a store of your choosing will be the first phase. The second phase is home delivery of the products.
Mark Barbour of NB Liquor says they will be able to make sure the credit card or receipt statement matches the ID of the person who has had it delivered.
“Social responsibility, we take that very seriously whether that’s in store or whether it would be an online purchase,” says Barbour.
And in terms of delivery time, NB Liquor’s home delivery component won’t be quite like ordering a pizza.
“We’re looking at something that’s not a quick impulse because you’ve run out of alcohol,” says Barbour. “It’s something that will take anywhere from 48 hours to 72 hours to fit into the schedule.”
The goal for the pick-up option to be in place is by the end of next year or early 2018. For home delivery the goal is the summer of 2018.
