The holiday season is a time where many people are out and about on the roads to visit friends, family and attend Christmas events.
The Canadian Automobile Association is reminding everyone that being prepared could save you a lot of stress if you have to travel through some nasty weather.
CAA is recommending all drivers put together a winter driving kit with items like water, snacks, sand or cat litter, a first aid kit, a blanket and warm clothing as well as extra windshield washer fluid.
They say it is extremely important to have the proper winter tires and recommend telling your friends and family the route you plan to take and your estimated time of arrival.
CAA says you should fully charge your cellphone before leaving, and make sure to bring a charger with you.
If you have the time, they suggest taking your car in for a tune up if you’re going to be doing lots of driving.
